HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
- I’ve been on my own since October 2019 and I took over my shop in March 2022
WHAT WAS BUSINESS LIKE BEFORE JOINING THE PROGRAMME?
- I had taken over my little shop in March 2022 which had a huge customer base. There was myself, a bather and a table renter. Unfortunately the prices when I took the shop on were very low and I was having to groom a lot of dogs just to make ends meet. By the September I was poorly, burnt out and not a happy groomer. This was not how I wanted to run my business and not how I had imagined it to be. I had already implemented 2 price increases but it was only around £1-2.
WHAT MADE YOU REACH OUT TO BILL?
- I had been following Bill for a while and love his approach to how we should be running our businesses. I had reached out to Bill with some help I needed with an issue I had to deal with and we had a good chat about my business and he explained to me about the programme. I had implemented the things we spoke about on that call but it wasn’t until I listened to a Facebook live with Bill and Jason that I decided to take the
leap and join the programme. They spoke about always using a certain percentage of your incomings to invest in yourself to be able to move your business forward, this made complete sense to me and I had never thought about it in this way before, I joined the programme that afternoon.
WHY DID YOU JOIN THE PROGRAMME?
- I joined the programme because I wanted more from my business and my life. I knew there was a different way to run a business other that just constant grooming I just didn’t know how to get there. I wanted to start earning a wage but I didn’t want to have to work myself into the ground for it. I also have a little toddler so I was restricted with how many days and hours I could work.
HOW HAS THE PROGRAMME HELPED YOU FINANCIALLY?
- The programme has helped me financially in ways I could never imagine. I never thought I would be capable of earning what I am earning now. One of my goals was to be able to get off universal credits which I have now done. It’s also enabled me to look after my family and see us through some hard Financial Times when my husbands job took a turn for the worse.
HOW HAS THE PROGRAMME HELPED YOU MENTALLY?
- I have completely changed mentally since I joined the programme, I am so much more confident within my business, I make decisions easier than I ever did before and I believe in myself and my business so much more now. I can deal with any problems that arise easily with out going
into panick mode. During the programme I haven’t just worked on my business I have also worked on myself with our mindset coach which
has had a real positive impact on the relationships in my life too.
HOW HAS THE PROGRAMME HELPED YOU ORGANISATIONALLY?
- I am so much more organised now, being unorganised used to leave me feeling really overwhelmed. I now have a system in place for my appointments, I have an accountant and I now know how to plan my days to enable me to complete the admin work that’s needs to be done
within my working hours rather than taking it all home with me. The money side of things is also organised, I track everything and I know exactly what is going in and out of my business on a daily basis.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THE PROGRAMME AND WHY?
- I would definitely recommend the programme because it has changed everything in my life. Learning how to run my business without running myself into the ground and adding new things to my business has made it more interesting and exciting, it’s also enabled me to earn more money which will lead to me living the life I want to live.
WHAT DOES THE NEXT 12 MONTHS LOOK LIKE FOR YOUR BUSINESS?
- The next 12 months is really exciting, I aim to add more services to my business and also will be starting my training school. I’m looking forward to continuing to run my business as it is now but I plan to earn even more money. Now I know how much earning potential my little salon has I’m really excited to see where it goes over the next year. I am also going to concentrate building a buffer for my business to give me even more security now I have increased my earnings.
